Job description:
We are seeking a talented Machine Learning Scientist to join our Research & Development team.
As a Machine Learning Scientist at MetDesk, you will work alongside an experienced team of meteorologists and scientists to both integrate the latest ML techniques into existing systems and help to design and prototype exciting new products.


Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and implement ML models tailored to meteorological applications.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in the growing field of ML-based weather forecasting.
  • Integrate cutting-edge ML techniques and methodologies into our projects.
  • Collaborate with our development and infrastructure teams to help guide the design of production ML systems.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Meteorology, Physics, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
  • Strong background in machine learning, with experience in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms and models using both point based and gridded timeseries data.
  • Excellent Python programming skills.
  • Experience using Python ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Proficient in Git and GitHub.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • UK/EU resident or valid UK work permit.
